WADING BIRDS AS PHOTOGRAPHED BY GERARD PAS |
Wading birds are generally long-legged birds, such as a Herons, or Cranes, that frequent shallow water in search of food. These birds have a preference for marshes, swamps, mud flats and shallow bodies of water. While not all of these birds migrate south during the cold of winter, such as the Great Blue Heron, most migrate as they require open water to hunt for food. |
