a visual calendar on the progress and development of the sculpture

The above images represent the actual progression of the sculpture ReFormation, as it was being built in Johannesburg. The sculpture was installed at CrossPathCulture (CPC) Arts Centre, New Town, Johannesburg, South Africa. The project was completed for the exhibition "CrossOvers" which opened on January 14th, 2001.

Names which appear in the calendar reflect people whom assisted me or collaborations with other artists or their work with in the general body of the sculpture.
A sculpture of this size and dimension required many hands and I thank everyone who helped me. From those who drove me, hauled the tons of material, sat and contemplated with me or actually participated by contributing their works or materials towards the realization of the work. Thank you all. Special thanks to Hongtu Zhang who loaned me his digital camera to document this work while it was in situ during the installation.

Questions relating to this work or catalogue projects on the exhibition, i.e. cd-rom, printed or other materials, use and copyright of these images should be addressed to solutions@gerardpas.com.
